Win with Black Women, the collective of community leaders working to elect female leaders of color is partnering with Oprah Winfrey for a live-streamed event that will unite the many grassroots political groups that have hosted Zoom events for Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, they announced on Monday.
The grassroots groups, which include White Dudes for Harris, Win with Black Men, Comics for Kamala, Republicans for Harris, Latino Men for Kamala and several others, quickly emerged after Harris replaced President Joe Biden in the Democratic ticket for the 2024 presidential race. With many identity-driven groups hosting lengthy, celebrity-studded online meetings, the 140 groups have raised millions for the vice president’s election bid.

“This ‘Unite for America’ call will be a powerful moment that demonstrates the urgency that we all feel in this moment and more importantly the impact of our collective activation to move our nation forward with Vice President Kamala Harris as our 47th President,” Jotaka Eaddy, founder of Win with Black Women (WWBW) said in a statement. “I cannot think of anyone better to host this event than Oprah Winfrey, who has brought Americans of different generations, backgrounds, and experiences together in conversation for decades.”
To date, over $20 million has been raised during the multiple Zoom calls for the Harris campaign, according to event organizers.
The event on Sept. 19 from Winfrey and the leaders of Win With Black Women will “serve as a call to action to work in communities throughout battleground states to register people to vote and build support,” according to a press release. Winfrey will also bring in voters from all over the country to discuss why they support Harris, what they believe is at stake in this election, and why voting in this presidential election matters to them.
The idea for this event was born when Winfrey and Eaddy connected and discussed how to create a sense of unity among the electorate and create a call for voters across the country, the release for the event states.
The event is set to take place on Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. and will be viewable on Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, Twitch and other online platforms. Anyone interested in viewing the event can to join the conversation at UniteForAmerica2024.com
